Education at PCC LEAH

We aim to support the educational goals of our member families. We approach all education topics from a Christian worldview. Our highest goal in life is to serve our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Friday Co-op science programs use a Creationism perspective, which means that we teach that God made the world in six literal twenty-four hour days.
We provide several regular on-going educational opportunities and attempt to create an atmosphere that helps parents to grow their childrens’ abilities and maintain a Christ-centered emphasis. Here are some of our programs:
Friday Co-op
Parents share their talents by working together to teach various age-appropriate classes to enrich our children’s home school experience during two ten-week sessions (fall and winter/spring).
Since our Friday co-op is entirely produced by talented volunteer labor, we ask that one of the parents from each family teach or aide roughly half of the time they are in the building. A set-up or clean-up job will also be assigned to each family.
We apologize, but our Friday co-op is not a drop-off program and your volunteer commitment cannot be fulfilled by someone who is not the parent or legal guardian. We also are unable to accept children at our events that are not members of your family.
To be eligible for the Fall 2026 PCC LEAH Friday Co-op,
you must join PCC LEAH on or before July 15, 2026.

High School Extension
Many of our core high school classes (e.g., science, history, English) need more than the 20 weeks to complete. These core classes have extended meeting dates so students can finish the required course work with the same instructors and classmates.
First Lego League
PCC LEAH has an established First Lego League program, which has been in operation since 2006. Several of our past teams have gone on to the FLL World’s Championship. Our program serves children ages 9-14.
ESA, National Home School Honors Society – Sigma Iota Chapter
Sigma Iota is a non-denominational, Christ-centered chapter of ESA (Eta Sigma Alpha) National Home School Honor Society. It is comprised of students that use the Holy Bible as a guide for their own personal life and to foster/strengthen godly leadership and servant-hood skills in all their chapter activities. It exists to provide an opportunity for academically excelled Christian homeschoolers residing in the greater-Rochester area all the benefits of a high school level scholastic honor society while at the same time encouraging them to further grow in their walk with the Lord. We also place emphasis on service and participate together in at least one service project each school year. Additional personal service hours are also required. Our chapter is in its seventeenth year.
PCC LEAH Science Fair Club
Our science fair club meets to help students in grades 5-12 create an awesome science fair project OR topic presentation. The Homeschool Science Fair Club also hosts an annual Rochester Homeschool Science and Engineering Fair in March.
Standardized Testing
PCC LEAH hosts annual IOWA testing for grades 5-12 with approved test administrators.
PCC LEAH Graduation Ceremony
Graduating home school students are presented their diplomas by their parents at our graduation ceremony. PCC LEAH members are also eligible for the NYS LEAH Commencement ceremony; please note that the sign up for NY LEAH’s event is in December – February.
